James Bond game 007: First Light delayed a bit on Nintendo Switch 2
007: First Light, IO Interactive’s action-adventure game reimagining the James Bond origin story, has experienced a platform-specific delay. While the game was originally planned for a simultaneous May 27, 2026 release across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the Nintendo Switch 2 version has been pushed back to later in the summer.
The delay was announced through the game’s official social media channels following reports from gaming insiders. IO Interactive stated that the postponement aims to ensure “the best game experience possible across all platforms,” suggesting the team needs additional time to optimize the Switch 2 port.
Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC will be able to experience the reimagined Bond origin story as planned in May, while Nintendo Switch 2 owners will have to wait several additional months. This staggered release approach is common when ports to new hardware require significant optimization work to meet quality standards.
