Call of the Sea sequel Call of the Elder Gods gets a close-at-hand release date
“Call of the Elder Gods,” the sequel to the acclaimed 2020 puzzle adventure “Call of the Sea,” has been officially scheduled for release on May 12, 2026. Developer Out of the Blue and publisher Kwalee have confirmed the game will launch across multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch 2, PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and Xbox Game Pass.
Building on its predecessor’s success, the sequel introduces a fresh narrative structure centered around two playable characters, Harry and Evangeline, who must solve interconnected puzzles spanning across space and time. The developers have emphasized that the puzzle design offers increased depth and complexity compared to the original game, providing a more challenging experience for returning players.
The game incorporates accessibility and customization options, allowing players to adjust difficulty levels by toggling hints, icons, and journal entries on or off. This feature enables players to tailor their experience to match their preferred playstyle, whether they seek a challenging experience or prefer more guidance.
For PlayStation 5 players, the original “Call of the Sea” is available through PlayStation Plus Extra, making it convenient for subscribers to experience the first game before diving into the sequel.
