PUBG: Battlegrounds’ new PvE mode is all about fighting off an alien invasion, and/or hiding in a big man-made dirt hole

PUBG: Battlegrounds, the battle royale shooter from Krafton, is introducing a fresh cooperative experience with its new PvE mode called Xeno Point. The mode shifts focus from traditional player-versus-player competition to squad-based alien defense gameplay, allowing up to five players to team up against waves of invading robotic extraterrestrials targeting the Miramar map.

The gameplay revolves around exploring a central HUB area filled with doors concealing hostile alien forces. Players must work together to defend against the alien invasion while battling through encounters with the robotic army. The invasion is orchestrated by two major entities: the Mothership and the Architect, a mysterious leader overseeing the entire incursion onto Miramar.

Xeno Point represents a notable departure from PUBG’s traditional battle royale formula, introducing cooperative PvE mechanics alongside the existing competitive player-versus-player modes. This addition aims to provide players with a new way to experience the game’s established sandbox, leveraging the familiar Miramar setting while introducing fresh strategic and cooperative gameplay elements.
