Cemetery Management Sim ‘Graveyard Keeper’ Digs Up A Sequel On Switch 1 & 2

Lazy Bear Games and publisher tinyBuild have announced Graveyard Keeper 2, a sequel to the medieval cemetery management simulator launching later in 2026. The original Graveyard Keeper debuted in 2018 and came to Nintendo Switch in 2019. The sequel will be available on Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, PC (Steam), and other platforms.

Graveyard Keeper 2 builds on the original’s dark comedy gameplay, combining cemetery management with town-building and combat elements. Players will manage their graveyard, craft items, upgrade abilities, complete storylines, fish, trade, and customize their character. The game expands the scope significantly, featuring a massive zombie-infested town where players help survivors rebuild while leading an undead army into battle to prevent a zombie apocalypse.

The franchise is known for its twisted humor and unconventional mechanics—the original game subverted the cozy life-sim formula of titles like Stardew Valley into something darkly satirical, where players treat human corpses as harvesting resources for profit and crafting.

To promote the sequel’s announcement, publishers are offering the original Graveyard Keeper for free on multiple platforms. On Xbox, the offer is available for a limited time until Monday, April 13 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST. The original title normally costs $19.99 / £15.99. Steam also has a free promotion running, allowing players to claim and keep the game permanently.
