Split Fiction dev Hazelight Studios accrues 50M total sales

Hazelight Studios has reached 50 million total sales across its three co-op-focused titles, the developer announced. The breakdown shows A Way Out at 13 million copies sold over eight years, It Takes Two at 30 million over five years, and Split Fiction at 7 million since its release one year ago.

The milestone underscores sustained market demand for cooperative multiplayer experiences. Hazelight’s entire catalog is built around two-player co-op gameplay, positioning the studio at the forefront of a growing genre segment. The significant sales performance—particularly It Takes Two’s 30 million copies, which represents the largest share—demonstrates that co-op games can achieve mainstream commercial success.

The achievement comes as other developers eye the co-op space. Kepler Interactive’s upcoming Switch 2 exclusive Orbitals is among titles seeking to capture momentum in the genre. More broadly, titles like Peak reinforced growing consumer interest, selling 4.5 million copies within a single month.

Hazelight’s success with co-op design spans diverse gameplay styles, from the narrative-driven puzzle experience of It Takes Two to the action-focused gameplay of Split Fiction. The progression of sales timelines—with Split Fiction reaching 7 million in just one year—suggests accelerating adoption of Hazelight’s titles, potentially reflecting increased platform availability or stronger market positioning for the studio’s most recent release.
