The next new Overwatch hero is Sierra, and we’ve been given a brief look at what she can do

Blizzard has announced Sierra, the 51st hero for Overwatch, a damage-role character launching with Season 2 of Reign of Talon on April 14th. Sierra marks the first of five new heroes planned for release throughout 2026.

While specific ability details remain undisclosed, Blizzard provided a brief glimpse through a CGI introduction cinematic. Sierra is characterized by tanned skin, long pink-tinged hair, and a southern American accent. Her design notably stands out visually from existing female heroes in the game—a deliberate choice reflecting similar representation considerations that influenced the recent introduction of hero Anran.

Sierra’s kit includes a flying arm bot that functions as a grappling hook, along with plasma-based weaponry. The character exemplifies Blizzard’s continued effort to expand Overwatch’s diverse hero roster with distinct visual identities and gameplay mechanics.

The addition of Sierra and four planned heroes demonstrate Blizzard’s ongoing live-service support for the shooter, maintaining a steady cadence of new content designed to sustain player engagement and provide fresh competitive options throughout 2026.
