“The gender of some Pokémon in the tutorial is incorrect” - Pokémon Champions bug fixes to tackle mega evolution issues and more

Pokémon Champions launched recently in a buggy state, and The Pokémon Company is now working to address the issues. The development team has acknowledged multiple categories of bugs affecting gameplay, including incorrect move descriptions, gender errors for certain tutorial Pokémon, and problematic mega evolution mechanics.

Specific fixes being targeted include correcting the Leech Seed move description—which inaccurately stated damage as 1/16 of maximum HP rather than the correct 1/8—and resolving scenarios where simultaneous mega evolutions could occur in the wrong order. Beyond these documented issues, players have also reported problems with item functionality, move animation glitches, and health calculation irregularities.

While the development team has confirmed they’re aware of these issues and are actively working on a patch, no specific release date has been announced. The patch will aim to address the game’s problematic launch state and work toward delivering the competitive battler experience players were expecting.
