Warhammer Brings Its Own ‘Vampire Survivors’ Game To Switch 1 & 2 This Year
Warhammer has announced Warhammer Survivors, a new roguelike game that adapts the successful Vampire Survivors formula with characters and content from the Warhammer universe. Developed by Auroch Digital (known for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun), the game is created in partnership with poncle, the small studio founded by Vampire Survivors creator Luca Galante.
Warhammer Survivors uses the exact same engine and technology as Vampire Survivors, ensuring it maintains the core mechanics and visual style that made the original such an addictive breakout hit. Rather than simply copying the formula, Warhammer’s partnership with poncle brings authentic technical implementation and creative blessing from the original creators, incorporating the Warhammer universe’s expansive roster of characters, weapons, and enemies.
The game will launch across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch (both the original and Switch 2) as well as PlayStation 5, with a release planned for later in 2026. This multi-platform strategy demonstrates Warhammer’s confidence in the project’s broad appeal across console players.
The announcement represents another successful adaptation of the Vampire Survivors template, which has inspired numerous games since its breakthrough success. By partnering directly with poncle rather than creating an independent clone, Warhammer has secured both technical credibility and the original creators’ involvement—a significant advantage over other Vampire Survivors-inspired titles.
