Fortnite Adding An Arc Raiders-Style Game With Disney Characters - Report

Epic Games is developing a new extraction shooter set to launch in November as the first game from Disney’s $1.5 billion investment in the company. According to Bloomberg’s reporting, the game will feature Disney characters who must work together to defeat enemies and reach an extraction point—gameplay mechanics similar to the popular extraction shooter Arc Raiders.

The title, scope, and specific Disney properties involved remain undisclosed, though it’s unclear whether the game will feature characters exclusive to this title or draw from Disney’s existing in-game roster seen in Fortnite, which includes properties like Star Wars, Marvel, and Toy Story.

This announcement comes during a challenging period for Epic, which recently laid off 1,000 employees and shuttered several Fortnite game modes. The Disney partnership is positioned as a key part of the company’s broader strategy to revitalize its gaming business. Internal playtesters have reportedly assessed the game as mechanically unoriginal, but Epic employees remain hopeful the studio will refine the experience before its November launch. The extraction shooter will be the first of three games planned under the Disney partnership.
