Gunzilla CEO Fires Back At Claims Of Not Paying Employees
Gunzilla Games CEO Vlad Korolev has issued a lengthy response to accusations from current and former employees that the studio failed to pay their salaries on time. The controversy began when talent acquisition lead Anna Savina posted on LinkedIn, claiming the company had left significant outstanding debt covering several months of unpaid wages. Her post prompted other employees to share similar experiences.
In his Twitter response, Korolev dismissed the allegations as “FUD” (fear, uncertainty, and doubt), characterizing them as attempts to generate engagement by targeting “the biggest web3 game ever created” — referring to Gunzilla’s NFT battle royale Off The Grid. He maintained that full-time employee salaries “have never been delayed by more than a week” and noted that “some payments may be scheduled in a way that works for the company’s cash flow.”
The CEO’s stance was defiant, suggesting critics were “haters” attempting to build a negative narrative without understanding the business or the game development process. However, his response also included apologetic language, stating the studio apologizes “for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
The situation highlights ongoing tensions within the web3 gaming space, with Korolev framing the allegations as attacks on both the studio and the broader blockchain gaming industry’s credibility within traditional gaming.
