Stunning MGS4 Steelbook Confirmed for Master Collection Vol. 2
Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 will include a physical steelbook as a pre-order bonus, themed around the collection’s central title. The announcement was made through a playful social media video in which Old Snake discovers the steelbook itself, styled with the iconic item pick-up screen from the games. The post accompanied the reveal with the message: “Good pickup, Snake. We’ll analyse this further and get back to you with more information in a few hours.”
The steelbook will be available at select retailers as a pre-order incentive. Master Collection Vol. 2 is scheduled to release exclusively on PlayStation 5 on August 27, 2026, and will compile three titles from across the Metal Gear Solid franchise’s history: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (the original PS3 release), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker in its HD Collection version, and Metal Gear: Ghost Babel from Game Boy Color.
The collectible steelbook represents Konami’s continued effort to preserve and make classic Metal Gear titles accessible to modern audiences through the Master Collection series. Further details about the release are expected to be announced in the coming hours.
