Ubisoft has announced the first DLC expansion for city-building game Anno 117: Pax Romana, titled “Prophecies of Ash.” Releasing later this month, the expansion introduces Cinis, a massive volcanic island that will serve as the largest island ever featured in the Anno series. Rather than presenting a completely new map, Cinis acts as an expansion to the existing Latium province, giving players a new region to develop and build upon.
The volcanic setting adds a unique gameplay element, introducing the risk of natural disasters that players must manage as they construct their Roman city. The dramatic landscape of the volcano-dominated island presents both aesthetic appeal and strategic challenges for city planning and resource management.
