‘Tarkov in Space’ Revealed as Fragmentary Order, a Sci-Fi ‘Combat Simulator’

Battlestate Games has unveiled Fragmentary Order, a sci-fi multiplayer first-person shooter that has been informally dubbed “Escape from Tarkov in space.” The reveal came through Rant Gaming in association with Cor3, accompanied by a seven-minute CGI trailer following months of cryptic teasing and world-building through an alternate reality game (ARG).

The game is described as a tactical simulation emphasizing hardcore gameplay centered on survival and risk mechanics. Fragmentary Order appears to function as an extraction shooter—a game mode where players enter a limited environment, secure objectives or resources, and must escape safely before time expires or they’re eliminated. This core mechanic, well-established in games like Escape from Tarkov, is being adapted into a science fiction setting.

Nikita Buyanov, head of Battlestate Games, has been central to promoting the connection between the studio and Cor3, building anticipation around this collaboration. While specific details about platforms, release date, and expanded gameplay features remain undisclosed, Fragmentary Order represents an expansion of the extraction shooter genre into new thematic territory. The combination of tactical simulation mechanics with sci-fi aesthetics aims to offer a distinctive take on the survival extraction formula that has gained significant traction in recent years.
