Physint Reportedly Casting for Villain Role Described as ‘Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal But With Flair’

Kojima Productions is actively casting for its upcoming tactical espionage action game Physint, with new details emerging about a villain character and a hijacked bus sequence inspired by the action film Speed.

According to casting director Mari Ueda, the studio is seeking actors for a scene featuring multiple characters, including a mother with a newborn baby, five teenagers, and a German male villain. The antagonist’s character description draws explicit inspiration from Mads Mikkelsen’s iconic portrayal in the television series Hannibal, though the casting call characterizes the role as “Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal but with flair.” The villain is described as needing to be “intense” and “confident in a psychotic way.”

Motion capture company Pivot Motion, which previously contributed to Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, is working alongside Ueda on the casting process. Physint operates under the internal codename “Shimmer” during casting and is positioned as Hideo Kojima’s spiritual successor to the legendary Metal Gear series. While most details remain confidential, the careful casting approach and Hollywood-style cinematic sequences suggest Kojima Productions is maintaining its signature commitment to character-driven storytelling and cinematic presentation.
