Modder turns Sekiro into Tony Hawk-style skateboarding sim ‘Jet Set Sekiro’
A creative modder has transformed FromSoftware’s challenging samurai action game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice into an unexpected skateboarding simulator with their new mod “Jet Set Sekiro.” The mod, created by Ionian-MikiriyAKATotallyNotShinobi, reimagines the Fountainhead Palace—one of Sekiro’s iconic locations—as a skateboarding playground evocative of early 2000s arcade skating games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Jet Set Radio.
Rather than engaging in the game’s signature sword combat and parry mechanics, players can now shred through the palace on a skateboard, performing tricks and navigating the environment in a completely different style. The transformation replaces Sekiro’s demanding combat system with arcade skateboarding gameplay, creating a humorous and unexpected mash-up of two disparate gaming genres.
Footage of the mod has been showcased on the Mod Server YouTube channel, demonstrating the creative execution of this ambitious fan project. The mod exemplifies the thriving community of Sekiro modders who continue to experiment with and reimagine the game years after its 2019 release, extending the longevity of the title and showcasing the creative potential of fan-driven game modification.
