CW’s Arrow and more arrive on Pluto TV next month for free

The CW’s acclaimed superhero series Arrow will launch on Pluto TV’s free streaming platform on May 1st. Originally premiering in 2012, the show is based on DC Comics’ Green Arrow character and has been recognized as one of the best superhero television programs ever created.

Arrow aired during an era when superhero TV adaptations were hesitant about embracing their comic book origins. Notably, the protagonist wasn’t initially called by his iconic “Green Arrow” moniker; instead, he was referred to as “The Hood” in early seasons. The series centers on billionaire Oliver Queen, who returns to his hometown after years stranded on an island, determined to right his father’s wrongs.

The show became known for blending superhero action with The CW’s signature soapy melodrama—a combination that defined its unique appeal and contributed to its critical success. This addition to Pluto TV’s library continues the platform’s strategy of offering quality entertainment for free, providing viewers access to an acclaimed series without a subscription fee.
