Random: Borderlands 4 Physical Switch 2 Version Apparently Surfaces In The Wild
A physical retail copy of Borderlands 4 for Nintendo Switch 2 has reportedly surfaced in the wild, according to a post on the Borderlands 4 subreddit. The discovery comes months after Gearbox Software paused development on the Switch 2 port earlier in 2026, leaving the console version’s status unclear.
According to the post, an individual claims to have acquired a physical European copy of the game. When inserted into a Switch 2 console, the Game-Key Card is recognized by the system, though it does not automatically initiate any data downloads. The physical copy reportedly includes a DLC code dated October 2025, though the code had already been redeemed in this instance.
The appearance of this physical copy raises questions about the game’s development status and potential release timeline, though details remain limited. No official announcements have been made by Gearbox or 2K Games regarding the Switch 2 version’s progress or planned release date since development was paused.
