DC’s Epic Medieval Fantasy Universe Returns in Dark Knights of Steel II
DC Comics has announced Dark Knights of Steel II, a 12-issue limited series continuing one of the publisher’s most successful Elseworlds projects. Written by Tom Taylor (Injustice: Gods Among Us) and illustrated by Otto Schmidt, the sequel returns to an alternate DC Universe where classic superheroes are reimagined in a medieval fantasy setting.
The original Dark Knights of Steel applied a Game of Thrones-style makeover to the traditional DC Universe, reimagining heroes like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman as figures in a high-fantasy world. Major powers in this setting include the House of El, the House of Wayne, and the Kingdom of Sto, among others. The series proved popular enough to warrant a sequel, with DC providing covers and interior art previews to promote the upcoming release.
