Roblox unveils new subscription service Roblox Plus
Roblox has announced the launch of Roblox Plus, a new monthly subscription service launching April 30 with a $5 monthly fee. The subscription offers members discounts on in-game items and avatars alongside unspecified exclusive benefits.
The service is designed to benefit both players and creators. Roblox will subsidize the discounts offered to subscribers, ensuring creators continue earning the same per-item revenue. This model allows subscribers to spread their Robux across more items, effectively increasing creator earnings as players can afford more purchases.
The company is also providing additional monetization tools for developers, including support for paid private servers and a new API enabling in-game Roblox Plus subscriptions. These features are intended to create multiple revenue streams for creators while expanding the value proposition of the platform’s subscription offering.
