New TMNT book explores the mystery of the 2 secret turtle siblings
IDW Publishing has released a new 300+ page book titled The Art of Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, written by Colin Stein, a superfan of the polarizing animated series. The comprehensive art book documents the development and artwork of the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, which aired on Nickelodeon from 2018 to 2020, as well as the 2022 Netflix film that concluded the franchise. Created by animation veterans Andy Suriano and Ant Ward, the series was one of the more divisive iterations of the TMNT property.
A major highlight of the publication is its exploration of abandoned concepts that never made it to screen. The book features lost episode summaries and detailed plans for two additional mutant turtle characters that were only hinted at during the original series run. This behind-the-scenes material provides fans with a rare glimpse into the creative process and unexplored directions the series could have taken.
The book’s release represents a significant moment for dedicated fans of Rise of the TMNT, offering comprehensive insight into the show’s development and creative evolution over its production run.
