Another Wildly Popular Roblox Game Is Becoming A Movie
Disney’s 20th Century Studios has secured the film rights to 99 Nights in the Forest, a massively popular horror game on Roblox developed by Grandma’s Favourite Games. The deal was won in a competitive bidding process, though financial terms were not disclosed.
Released in March 2025, 99 Nights in the Forest has become one of the platform’s most-played games of all time, ranking seventh despite its recent launch. The game has accumulated over 26 billion visits and maintains a peak player count of 14.2 million. With a gameplay style reminiscent of Five Nights at Freddy’s, the game challenges players to survive 99 nights in a haunted forest, defeat creatures, and rescue four lost children.
This marks another major film adaptation of a Roblox title, continuing the trend of Hollywood studios developing movies based on popular games hosted on the platform. The adaptation aims to bring the game’s horror-survival premise to the screen, potentially expanding its audience beyond Roblox players.
