Silent Hill 2 remake studio Bloober Team announces leadership expansion and teases seven games in development

Polish horror game developer Bloober Team is undergoing a significant expansion, transitioning from single-project focus to a multi-project studio structure. The company has announced new leadership appointments: Thaine Lyman (formerly of Activision and Wargaming) as head of studio, Katya Baukova (ex-CD Projekt and Techland) as director of business development, and Michał Gembicki (ex-CD Projekt) as head of publishing, with CEO Piotr Babieno remaining in his role.

The studio currently has seven horror games in active development: two first-party single-player titles and five additional projects in co-development partnerships. Already-announced titles include the Silent Hill 2 remake, Cronos: The New Dawn, and Layers of Fear 3 alongside an unannounced new Nintendo-exclusive project.

CEO Babieno emphasized that the multi-project approach prioritizes “sustainable development, financial discipline, and long-term stability” rather than aggressive growth strategies. He explained that maintaining at least two active productions mitigates risk, noting that “relying on a single title creates too much risk in today’s market.” This philosophy explicitly rejects the layoff-driven problem-solving common in the industry.

The expansion follows the critical and commercial success of Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake (2024) and Cronos: The New Dawn (2025), positioning the studio as a major player in horror game development with a sustainable, multi-title portfolio strategy.
