Three Classic Gothic Games Have Just Been Announced For Xbox Series X|S
THQ Nordic has announced that three classic Gothic games will release on Xbox Series X|S throughout 2026. Gothic Classic launches July 28, Gothic 2 Complete Classic arrives September 29, and Gothic 3 Classic releases November 24, with each title priced at €29.99.
The Gothic series, originating in 2001, has historically remained exclusive to PC until its 2023 Switch port. Gothic 2 followed the same exclusivity pattern, while Gothic 3 has remained PC-only until now. These upcoming Xbox releases represent a significant platform expansion for the franchise, making these classic action-RPGs available to a new audience.
The staggered release schedule across three months suggests a strategic rollout, allowing THQ Nordic to space out the three launches rather than releasing them simultaneously. This approach gives players time to experience each entry across the summer and fall gaming season.
These releases represent an important moment in game preservation and accessibility, bringing acclaimed classic action-RPGs to contemporary hardware and reaching players who may have missed them on their original platforms. The move aligns with broader industry trends of reintroducing legacy titles on modern consoles, ensuring these influential games remain playable for both longtime fans and new generations of players discovering the franchise.
