A proper Overwatch Switch 2 version releases today, boasting ‘up to’ 60 FPS, as Reign of Talon Season 2 arrives

Overwatch launches Season 2 “Reign of Talon: Summit” on April 14, introducing substantial gameplay updates and a significant platform milestone. Sierra, a new damage hero and the sixth new character added in 2026, debuts with lore connections to Soldier: 76 and Reaper through her mysterious super soldier background. The Head of Security at Watchpoint: Grand Mesa, Sierra wields a distinctive spiral-pattern rifle. Four additional heroes are planned for the remainder of 2026.

The season brings considerable balance changes across the roster. Roadhog receives significant adjustments to his chain hook ability’s cooldown timer to address persistent balance concerns, while Soldier: 76 gains a new ability after a decade without changes. Lifeweaver and Mercy also receive reworks, with Mercy’s healing modifications designed to balance the permanent addition of Flash Heal. Additional content includes returning features—loot boxes and post-match accolades—alongside new mythic skins and collaboration opportunities.

Antarctic Peninsula receives a complete rework after being removed from rotation in Season 20, introducing new environmental hazards that particularly impact flying heroes while improving team movement and pushes. The special Stadium game mode receives new additions including Ramattra and Jetpack Cat.

Most significantly, an official Nintendo Switch 2 version launches today, delivering up to 60 FPS performance in both docked and handheld modes with improved visuals and higher-fidelity audio. Season 2 begins at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET / 7 pm GMT on April 14.
