When does Project Hail Mary come to streaming, Blu-ray and DVD?
Project Hail Mary, an adaptation of Andy Weir’s 2021 science fiction novel, has become a major box office success, earning $510 million worldwide. Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the film stars Ryan Gosling as astronaut Ryland Grace and tells the story of his encounter with a rock-like alien. The film has resonated with both critics and audiences, delivering on the promise of the novel while standing as a worthy follow-up to Ridley Scott’s 2015 adaptation of Weir’s The Martian.
The movie’s visual spectacle draws comparisons to Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, making it ideal for theatrical viewing. Due to its success, an IMAX encore run was scheduled to begin April 17. Beyond the current theatrical run, the film is expected to eventually become available on streaming services, Blu-ray, and DVD, though specific release dates were not provided in available information.
The success of Project Hail Mary has increased the likelihood of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller moving forward with their long-gestating adaptation of Weir’s second novel, Artemis, a project they have been attached to since 2017.
