Roblox For PS5 Now Has 30% Faster Load Times With Native Version Launch

Roblox launched a native version for PlayStation 5 today, bringing significant performance improvements to the user-generated content platform. The new native client delivers 30% faster load times and a smoother, more responsive experience compared to the existing PS4 version, which has been available since 2023.

Taking full advantage of the PS5’s hardware capabilities, the native version offers enhanced frame rates and improved visuals. The client supports the PS5’s DualSense controller, allowing individual creators to leverage various DualSense features in their experiences.

This launch follows the platform’s native version for Xbox Series X|S, which debuted in September 2025. Developers reported significant benefits from the performance improvements. According to a creator from Voldex working on the NFL Universe Football experience, the enhanced capabilities enable creators to add more content without worrying about performance impact, opening up possibilities for pushing visual boundaries further.

Roblox is a massive platform hosting millions of user-generated experiences. Players select from an extensive library of games and interactive content created by developers worldwide. The expansion to native versions on current-generation consoles makes the platform more accessible and performant for its player base.

The launch occurs amid ongoing discussions about child safety on the Roblox platform within the gaming industry, though the platform continues to expand its presence across major gaming systems.
