Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse New Images Released
Sony Pictures has released new promotional materials and footage for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse at CinemaCon 2026. The film marks the conclusion of the acclaimed Spider-Verse trilogy that began with 2018’s Into the Spider-Verse and continued with 2023’s Across the Spider-Verse. The animated feature is directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, with the story developed by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham.
The new images represent the first official promotional materials shown for the upcoming release. At CinemaCon, Sony presented exclusive footage to industry attendees, which reportedly impressed viewers. Notably, the footage was formatted in a 1.43:1 aspect ratio specifically tailored for IMAX and other large-format theatrical experiences—a relatively unusual approach for animated features, suggesting Sony’s commitment to delivering a premium cinematic presentation.
According to announcements made at the event, the release date for Beyond the Spider-Verse has been adjusted slightly earlier than previously scheduled. The film is now set to premiere on June 18, 2027, moving up one week from its original date. The story picks up directly from the cliffhanger ending of Across the Spider-Verse, continuing Miles Morales’ journey as he faces pursuit from Miguel O’Hara’s Spider Society while navigating betrayal from his allies.
