Free Content for All STALKER 2 PS5 Players in Newest Update

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl received its latest major update, titled “Sealed Truth,” bringing new free content to players. The update introduces a story-focused questline centered on exploring the X-18 laboratory, a location familiar from the original STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. The new quest begins when players interact with Diode, a technician from Slag Heap who has mysteriously gained access to the lower levels of X-18, following rumors among stalkers about sealed laboratories buried under failed research initiatives.

The questline emphasizes the game’s horror elements and is designed to tie into the plot of the upcoming “Cost of Hope” expansion, scheduled for Summer release. Beyond the narrative content, the patch addresses technical issues affecting gameplay, including a bug that caused excessive spawning of powerful mutant types during extended campaigns—a problem that had made long playthroughs significantly more difficult.

The new questline appears available only early in the game’s campaign progression, and players may need to restart on earlier saves to access it, suggesting either time-limited or narrative-progression-gated availability. This update demonstrates GSC Game World’s continued post-launch support for STALKER 2, maintaining player engagement with meaningful free content ahead of the upcoming paid expansion.
