Phew, American Truck Simulator’s latest beta update will tow me back to the road when I inevitably roll it trying to take a turn at 80 mph
SCS Software is rolling out a new quality-of-life feature to its truck simulation games called “tow to road.” The feature allows players whose vehicles have been overturned or crashed to be quickly repositioned back onto the road, rather than requiring a lengthy tow to the nearest service station.
The new mechanic is currently being deployed as part of a beta update to American Truck Simulator, with Euro Truck Simulator 2 also set to receive the same functionality. This improvement addresses a common frustration in both games—particularly for players who misjudge turns or brake too late, resulting in their trucks rolling or becoming immobilized in awkward positions.
The feature simplifies gameplay recovery for these scenarios, reducing downtime and allowing players to resume their journey more quickly. SCS Software’s implementation demonstrates the developer’s continued commitment to refining the player experience in both titles through iterative updates.
