Absolute Batman revealed for the next Lego Batman game

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, launching May 22, 2026, is shaping up to be a comprehensive celebration of the Batman franchise across comics, TV, film, and games. The upcoming game features an extensive roster of alternate costumes and character variants.

Notably, the game includes Absolute Batman as a playable outfit, bringing the recent reinvention of the character created by acclaimed Batman writer Scott Snyder. In this version, Batman is fundamentally reimagined—he is not wealthy, lacks a butler, and has other core elements stripped away. Catwoman also has an Absolute variant available in the game.

Beyond the Absolute iteration, players will have access to other distinctive costumes, including the colorful Zur-En-Arrh suit and samurai armor inspired by the Batman Ninja film. This variety reflects the game’s approach of drawing from Batman’s rich history across multiple media formats.

WB Games and DC have been actively promoting the game’s launch with trailers, including one featuring Scott Snyder discussing the inclusion of Absolute Batman. Snyder expressed enthusiasm about seeing his creation represented in the LEGO format, stating that having his work featured in the game “means the world” and praising how it looks.

The inclusion of Absolute Batman demonstrates how the LEGO game is positioning itself as an all-encompassing exploration of the character, blending contemporary comic interpretations with classic and alternate versions. With its focus on variety and breadth of Batman lore, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight aims to appeal to fans across different eras and interpretations of the character.
