Gears of War: E-Day Direct Runtime Revealed by Xbox CCO

Microsoft has confirmed that Gears of War: E-Day will receive a dedicated Direct presentation on June 7, 2026. Xbox Chief Content Officer Matt Booty revealed during an appearance on the official Xbox podcast that the standalone presentation will run for a full 30 minutes, offering players their most substantial look at the game to date.

The news comes as welcome information for fans who have been waiting for substantial gameplay reveals. Gears of War: E-Day was initially announced at the June 2024 Xbox Showcase, where only a cinematic trailer was presented. Since then, the game has remained largely under wraps, with developer The Coalition maintaining secrecy around the project.

The upcoming Direct presentation will be separate from the broader Xbox Games Showcase, allowing the franchise to take center stage for an extended period. Booty expressed enthusiasm for the project during his podcast appearance, highlighting the significance of the 30-minute showcase for what The Coalition has been developing.

The game is expected to launch sometime in 2026, though Microsoft has not yet announced a specific release date. The June 7 Direct presentation will be a major opportunity for the developer to showcase gameplay, features, and other details that have been kept confidential since the game’s announcement nearly two years ago.
