These Custom Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con Pay Tribute To A Truly Iconic Game Boy
Nintendo’s Switch 2 launch has been limited to minimal color variation, with official Joy-Con options restricted to Light Purple and Light Green variants that share the same plastic bodywork as standard consoles—a departure from the diverse color combinations available for the original Switch.
GameTraderZero, a specialist in gaming hardware modifications, has filled this gap by creating custom Switch 2 Joy-Con designs. The company, known for previous work on Pro Controller modifications, upgraded Switch Lite units, and modded Game Boy consoles, has now turned its attention to Switch 2 accessories. Their new Joy-Con design pays homage to the iconic Game Boy, combining nostalgic retro aesthetics with modern Switch 2 hardware.
This third-party offering addresses consumer demand for greater visual customization options in Switch 2 accessories, providing an alternative for players seeking distinctive designs beyond Nintendo’s official limited palette. GameTraderZero’s expansion into Switch 2 Joy-Con customization demonstrates the continued market interest in personalized gaming hardware, particularly designs that reference Nintendo’s beloved legacy products.
