Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced Reportedly Drops Anchor This July

Ubisoft has officially announced the release date for Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, the highly anticipated remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The game is scheduled to launch on July 9, 2026, according to reporting from Insider Gaming, though the company has not yet provided official confirmation.

Originally planned to be revealed on April 16, 2026, Ubisoft postponed the formal announcement, but media outlets and content creators were given an early preview during a roughly 30-minute presentation. The remake features a complete overhaul of the original game, incorporating new content and substantial updates while maintaining its core identity as a solo, character-driven adventure.

Notably, despite previous speculation, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced will not be an RPG. The game will preserve the original’s design philosophy while bringing modern improvements to the beloved pirate-themed installment, which is widely considered one of the strongest entries in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

The remake’s existence was first confirmed in March when Ubisoft released concept art and teased the project through cryptic messaging from Jean Guesdon, Head of Content. The official title “Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced” surfaced in December via a European filing. Ubisoft’s official announcement regarding launch platforms and additional details is expected in the coming days.
