Another Call Of Duty Game Is Seemingly Being Prepped For Xbox Game Pass

Following Modern Warfare’s imminent arrival on Xbox Game Pass this week, Microsoft has quietly prepared another Call of Duty title for the subscription service. Call of Duty: Vanguard—Sledgehammer Games’ 2021 entry in the franchise—has received a newly-released PC version via the Microsoft Store. Prior to this release, Vanguard was only available as a console version on Xbox platforms.

This platform expansion typically precedes a game’s arrival on Xbox Game Pass, as seen in previous releases. However, the transition from a Microsoft Store release to Game Pass availability can take months, meaning an official announcement may not be imminent. Microsoft has not yet confirmed plans to bring Vanguard to the subscription service.

The development comes as Call of Duty continues to expand its presence on Xbox services following Microsoft’s 2023 acquisition of Activision Blizzard. With Modern Warfare set to launch on Game Pass alongside Vanguard’s PC release, the franchise is gaining increased accessibility across Microsoft’s gaming ecosystem.
