GTA Online Adds A Trippy 4/20 Mode That Makes You Hallucinate And Fight Clowns
Rockstar Games is introducing a new limited-time game mode for Grand Theft Auto Online to celebrate 4/20, titled “Stoner Survival.” The mode tasks players with surviving waves of hallucinogenic-induced encounters following the consumption of an in-game drug item.
Players can initiate the mode by locating the “Survival Blip” on the map and traveling to the Senora Desert Trailer Park. Once activated, players experience visual hallucinations while confronting five waves of fantastical enemies, including aliens, oversized action figures, clown enemies wielding wrenches, and giant chickens. The mode is scheduled to activate daily at 4:20 PM in-game and will remain available until April 22.
The event offers enhanced rewards during its run, with players earning quadruple GTA$ currency and reputation points (RP). Those who successfully survive all five waves will receive the Sasquatch outfit cosmetic and $420,000 in GTA$ currency as completion rewards.
The Stoner Survival mode draws thematic parallels to GTA Online’s previously released “Grass Roots” mission, suggesting Rockstar’s continued interest in absurdist and comedic content for its player base. This addition represents another example of GTA Online’s ongoing live-service model, which regularly introduces themed content updates tied to cultural moments and holidays throughout the year.
