007 First Light title song will be performed by Lana Del Rey, while Bond film composer David Arnold returns to franchise after almost two decades

IO Interactive’s upcoming James Bond origin game 007 First Light will feature a title song performed by Lana Del Rey. The singer has co-written and performed “First Light,” a grand orchestral theme composed by David Arnold, marking the legendary Bond film composer’s return to the franchise after nearly two decades. Arnold previously scored five Bond films including Casino Royale, Die Another Day, and The World Is Not Enough.

Del Rey’s involvement had been suspected by fans since late 2024, when a song titled “First Light” was registered to ASCAP under her real name, Elizabeth Grant. The official lyric video was released alongside the announcement, with the game’s title sequence premiering on April 17th.

The track is designed to honor James Bond’s musical legacy while introducing a fresh sound for the game. Arnold stated: “Having been part of that musical lineage, I understand how important it is to honor its heritage while allowing it to evolve. Lana brought an elegance and atmosphere to the song that felt perfectly suited to continuing that tradition while introducing something fresh for a new era.”

Reception has been largely positive, with the song described as fitting perfectly with the Bond franchise aesthetic while bringing modern sensibility. This marks Del Rey’s first official Bond theme, aligning with her cinematic musical style that has long suggested this as a natural career milestone.
