Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream - All Personality Types And How To Get Them

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a life simulation game for Nintendo Switch that serves as a follow-up to the 3DS original. The game centers on extensive character customization and open-ended gameplay, allowing players to create and manage Mii characters on a virtual island.

Customization options are extensive. When creating Miis, players select from five personality indicators—Movement, Speech, Energy, Thinking, and Overall—that determine how characters interact with island residents. Personalities can be changed anytime after creation. Beyond character personalities, the game features pixel-by-pixel customization tools that let players design items, food, buildings, and draw features directly onto characters’ faces, representing a significant evolution of the Mii avatar creator.

Gameplay encourages creativity and relationship building. Players can pair up their Miis romantically, leading to marriages, breakups, and eventually children. While the pairing system relies on game randomness, certain strategies can help players successfully play matchmaker.

However, the game faces criticism for Nintendo’s decision to disable sharing features. Players cannot trade Miis online or share screenshots to the Nintendo Switch app, which deviates from the series’ tradition of community-focused gameplay. This limitation has been described as a fatal flaw given the franchise’s historical emphasis on sharing and community interaction.
