PSA: Xenoblade Chronicles X Now Available Physically For Switch 2
Nintendo has released a physical edition of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition for Nintendo Switch 2, becoming available after the game’s digital shadow-drop in February 2026. The cartridge includes both the game and its upgrade pack, eliminating the need for a separate Game-Key Card. Physical copies are priced at approximately £50 in the UK and $65 in the US, making it available through major gaming retailers.
The physical release comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding the Switch 2 Edition. Nintendo has faced significant backlash from fans over the use of what appears to be AI upscaling technology employed alongside the game’s 60fps performance target. The upscaling implementation has raised concerns within the gaming community about image quality and authenticity, though complete details of the controversy remain unclear from the available information.
For physical game collectors, this release offers what may be the definitive way to own the title, as it provides a complete experience in cartridge form without requiring additional digital components.
