Arc Raiders Players are Disappointed in the New Expedition Changes
Embark Studios has announced significant changes to Arc Raiders’ Expedition system, aiming to address player frustration with the progression mechanics. Expeditions serve as Arc Raiders’ equivalent to seasonal progression resets, allowing players to restart their progress in exchange for permanent upgrades and bonuses.
Previously, players were required to accumulate 3 million credits worth of stash value to unlock the maximum bonus skill points, incentivizing them to grind for in-game currency rather than engage in active gameplay. This grinding requirement sparked considerable player dissatisfaction among those who had spent months saving up credits.
Recognizing that “grinding for monetary value isn’t fun,” Embark Studios is redesigning future Expeditions to reward players for actual combat performance instead. Under the new system, progression will be tied to defeating enemies and engaging in gameplay activities rather than passive credit accumulation. The next Expedition window is scheduled to open on April 28, 2026.
These changes reflect Embark’s effort to align the prestige feature with more rewarding and engaging gameplay mechanics, shifting focus from monetary grinding to skill-based progression and combat achievements.
