ENVY Terminate canezerra’s Contract After Riot Ban

ENVY has terminated the contract of Valorant player Alex ‘canezerra’ Banyasz following a 12-month hardware ban issued by Riot Games for violating the publisher’s terms of service. The ban prevents the player from playing or streaming Valorant during the suspension period, forcing the esports organization to immediately release him from his contract.

The departure represents a significant loss for ENVY, as canezerra was a standout performer in their Valorant Challengers League (VCL) roster throughout 2025. Playing as a Duelist, he demonstrated consistent impact across all three stages of the competition in the Tier 2 competitive scene. His strong performances contributed to ENVY’s qualification in VCT Ascension Americas, which the organization successfully converted into a VCT Americas spot by defeating regional rival TSM with back-to-back victories (2-1 and 3-1).

The timing of the ban is particularly impactful as ENVY had just secured their place in Valorant’s top competitive league following canezerra’s contributions to their recent success in the Ascension tournament.
