Pokemon-Palworld Clone Pickmos Pulled From Steam As Publisher Promise “Controversy-Free” Rework

Pickmos (formerly titled Pickmon), a creature-collecting and survival-crafting game developed by PocketGame, has been removed from Steam following publisher intervention from Networkgo. The game faced sustained criticism from the gaming community for allegedly copying character designs and gameplay mechanics from Pokémon, Palworld, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with creature designs bearing striking similarities to iconic Pokémon and the protagonist resembling Link.

In response to widespread backlash, publisher Networkgo announced it had “officially intervened in the development of PocketGame” and would supervise the team “from a player’s perspective” to ensure continuous improvement. The publisher stated its commitment to revising the game to deliver a “controversy-free experience,” with plans to evaluate and modify the copied artwork before relaunch.

Networkgo has pledged to provide final approval before Pickmos returns to Steam, indicating a comprehensive rework of the title is underway. The intervention marks an unusual move by a publisher to directly address intellectual property concerns rather than face potential legal action from the original creators. The game will remain unavailable until the publisher deems the revisions satisfactory.
