Red Bull Knockout: Country-Based 2v2 2XKO Tournament Announced
Red Bull has announced Red Bull Knockout, a new esports tournament featuring 2XKO, the competitive 2v2 fighting game. The event will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Paris, France, with eight nations competing in a country-based format where duos battle for both national pride and a cash prize pool.
The tournament features seven directly invited national teams representing France, USA, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, and Japan. These nations will be joined by an eighth wildcard team representing the in-game region of Ionia, which earned its spot by winning a 128-player Last Chance Qualifier.
This tournament follows Red Bull’s increased investment in esports entertainment, including the recent Red Bull London Londonium event, which brought the classic RTS Age of Empires II to the prestigious Royal Albert Hall concert venue. Red Bull’s expansion into competitive gaming events demonstrates the brand’s broader strategy to engage with gaming communities and create unique, high-profile esports experiences.
