Samson Coming To Consoles This Fall

Samson, a 1990s-set open-world action-adventure brawler directed by Christofer Sundberg (creator of Just Cause), launched on PC earlier this month but suffered from technical issues and received mixed reviews on Steam. The Unreal Engine 5-based game failed to meet the hype it had generated prior to release.

Despite the rocky PC launch, developer Liquid Swords is moving forward with new platforms. The studio has announced that Samson will arrive on consoles in fall 2026, with versions expected for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The company has not confirmed whether Nintendo Switch 2 will receive a port—a notable question given that most Unreal Engine 5 games have yet to appear on Nintendo’s new hardware.

To address the PC version’s problems, Liquid Swords has unveiled a comprehensive patch and content update schedule. The developer is committed to improving the game over the coming weeks, positioning the console releases as an opportunity to deliver a more polished experience to a new audience while the PC version receives ongoing support.
