Can You Play Fortnite Save The World on Mobile?
Fortnite’s Save the World mode, the game’s original PvE co-op campaign, became free-to-play on April 16, 2026, after more than eight years as a paid experience. The mode, which tasks players with building forts and defending against waves of enemies called Husks, is now available at no cost across multiple platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. The mode is not available on mobile devices.
Alongside the free-to-play transition, Epic Games has overhauled Save the World’s progression system, introducing simplified XP resources, Schematic updates, and rewards that scale with difficulty. Players who previously purchased the mode receive in-game rewards including Superchargers, Vouchers, and Gold, while those who pre-registered for the update unlock community rewards. V-Bucks remain available through Save the World, though they are restricted to players who own the Founder’s Pack.
The April 16 update also saw the removal of two other game modes: Ballistic and Festival Battle Stage, with Rocket Racing scheduled for removal later in 2026. Epic Games indicated additional game modes are in development as the company continues to reshape Fortnite’s content offerings.
