Hero modder gives all of Skyrim’s jarls unique sitting poses on their fancy thrones

A modder known as daubuoi has created a new mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that addresses a subtle detail many players never noticed: all of Skyrim’s jarls—the regional rulers who sit atop their thrones—previously used identical sitting animations.

The mod, titled “Unique Jarl Throne Sitting Animation,” gives each jarl their own distinctive pose when seated on their thrones, adding visual variety and personality to these important NPCs. This change enhances immersion and character differentiation across Skyrim’s various holds and their leaders.

The project exemplifies the ongoing creativity of Skyrim’s modding community, which continues to deliver detailed quality-of-life improvements and enhancements more than a decade after the game’s 2011 release. As PC Gamer notes in covering the mod, these contributions show the modding community’s continued ability to identify and improve upon overlooked details in the game, keeping Skyrim fresh for both new and veteran players.
