World War Z 2 Confirmed
Paramount Pictures has officially confirmed that a World War Z sequel is in active development. The announcement was made at CinemaCon 2026, where studio executives revealed plans for multiple franchise projects including Top Gun 3, Star Trek, Call of Duty, G.I. Joe, and Transformers installments. The confirmation marks a notable return to the franchise, as over a decade has passed since the release of the original Brad Pitt-led zombie film. Last year, Paramount had identified World War Z as one of three prioritized franchises alongside Top Gun 3 and Star Trek, making the formal announcement part of the studio’s broader slate expansion. No additional details about the sequel’s production timeline, creative team, or development status were shared at the event.
