Charles Dance in Talks to Join The Batman Part 2 as Harvey Dent’s Father
Charles Dance, best known for his role as Tywin Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones, has reportedly joined the cast of The Batman Part 2. According to Deadline, Dance is in negotiations to portray Charles Dent, the father of Harvey Dent, who becomes the villain Two-Face.
The casting announcement emerged on Superman Day (April 18), an unusual development given that the occasion typically celebrates DC Studios’ newest superhero venture—the 2025 Superman film. However, The Batman Part 2 exists in a separate universe from the newly established Superman project, operating under the cinematic continuity established by 2022’s The Batman.
Harvey Dent is Gotham City’s District Attorney who undergoes a tragic transformation into the scarred villain Two-Face following a disfiguring attack. The character has previously appeared in live-action adaptations, most notably in Batman Forever and Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight.
Dance brings considerable experience portraying powerful, commanding father figures to the role. His acting career spans decades, with credits dating back to the 1970s. His involvement expands the supporting cast of what is anticipated to be a significant installment in DC Studios’ upcoming film slate.
