Review: Death Stranding 2 PC: The Last Big Sony Single-Player PS5 Port?

Death Stranding 2 arrived on PC approximately one month ago via a Nixxes-developed port, marking what may be the final major single-player PlayStation game to receive a PC release. The initial launch was marred by technical issues including PCIe bandwidth problems, performance bugs, and other stability concerns that gave the release an unfinished quality. However, recent patches have significantly improved the state of the game, bringing it to what reviewers consider a playable condition.

A key distinction between the PC version and its PlayStation counterparts is the inclusion of ray tracing technology, a feature absent from the PS5 and PS5 Pro versions. This enhancement represents one of the primary technical advantages of the PC release. Performance testing has been conducted on mid-range hardware configurations, including systems built around the 2019-era Ryzen 5 3600 processor paired with an RTX 4060 GPU, to evaluate how the game scales across different performance tiers.
