Metroid Prime Remastered Studio ‘Iron Galaxy’ Announces More Layoffs
Iron Galaxy Studios has announced another round of layoffs as the company restructures and adjusts its workforce size. The developer revealed that numerous employees will be losing their jobs as part of a new organizational structure. This marks the second significant reduction in force for the studio, following a previous round that saw 66 employees depart. According to the studio’s LinkedIn announcement, the company determined it was “impossible” to maintain its current team size even after the earlier layoffs had occurred.
Iron Galaxy is recognized for providing technical support on Metroid Prime Remastered for Nintendo Switch, assisting Retro Studios with the project. The developer also released Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 last year. The new workforce reductions reflect broader challenges facing the video game industry, which has seen numerous studios announce significant layoffs and restructurings in recent years as companies adjust to changing market conditions and budget constraints.
