Xbox Players Can Soon Spend Microsoft Rewards Points on Console
Microsoft is introducing a new feature allowing Xbox players to spend Microsoft Rewards Points directly on the Xbox console. The change, announced via updates to the Xbox website, will integrate rewards points as a payment method in the Xbox Marketplace checkout process.
Players will be able to select items from the Store and redeem accumulated rewards points at checkout, streamlining the redemption process. However, the feature includes one limitation: points cannot be used to purchase subscriptions, meaning Game Pass and other subscription services must still be bought through traditional payment methods.
The company is leveraging this update to incentivize engagement across its ecosystem. Xbox Game Pass subscribers already earn bonus points, with premium tier subscribers earning up to four times the standard rewards rate. This new spending capability complements the existing rewards structure by making accumulated points more immediately valuable to players.
While the Xbox website confirms the feature is coming, no specific launch date has been announced. The update represents Microsoft’s continued effort to enhance its rewards program for Xbox players.
